Kids spend so much of their time moving from one schedule to the next. At Yurtward Bound, our goal is to give children the space to slow down, explore freely, and make their own choices in a safe, supportive environment. Through unstructured outdoor play and guidance from experienced staff, campers build confidence, creativity, and independence. We believe this kind of freedom is what Maine summer is all about.

About Maine Forest Yurts
Nestled on 100 acres of wilderness along Runaround Pond in Durham, Maine, our campground is the perfect setting for a nature-immersed summer camp. Campers spend their days exploring the surrounding woods and water, and take lunch and relax in the yurts. Just minutes from Bradbury Mountain State Park and a short drive from Freeport and Portland, the property offers both peaceful seclusion and easy access. With a peaceful uncrowded waterfront and endless room to roam, it’s an unforgettable place for adventure and outdoor discovery.
